THG Energy Secures Trade Ally Agreement with MCE Clean Energy to Accelerate Energy Storage and DER Integration

June 1, 2021

THG Energy Solutions, LLC (THG) based in Tulsa, OK and Austin, TX, today announced it has been selected by MCE, a California Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) agency, as a Trade Ally to enable and deploy optimized energy storage projects as a part of their Energy Storage Program. Under these agreements, MCE will utilize THG’s OpenADR technology to integrate and enable alignment across a variety of distributed energy resources (DER’s), including battery storage and solar generation, for their portfolios of customers.
According to Mark Lane, EVP of Demand Response for THG,

“THG’s OpenADR platform enables MCE to optimize the use of battery, solar and other distributed resources to better align demand with real-time grid conditions. This includes daily Time-Of-Use (TOU) price mitigation, along with real-time management for grid events and capacity programs to extract the full value of distributed energy resources. Using THG’s technology, MCE gains two-way communication with a wide variety of third-party resources, along with automated response, measurement, verification, and settlement information. Utilizing the full value of these integrated assets, MCE can provide extremely favorable financing to battery storage technology to accelerate deployment of these resources. MCE’s DER integration efforts are truly innovative, and will help lead the way for a more sustainable and resilient grid.”
